The Story Behind My Art
I transform ordinary playing cards into extraordinary 3D art pieces. My journey began with creating shadow box framed 3D art pieces. Layering printed images to create a 3D effect. Like the Super Mario World piece shown here.
Fast forward to the Covid quarantine of 2020, I was playing alot of card games with my family. This inspired me to wonder what it would be like to use a playing card as the canvas for my 3D creations.
At first I used Bicycle playing of cards as the back ground to my creations. Starting with Rick & Morty, Dragon Ball Z, Red Dead Redemption and more. Then moving on to other playing cards and TCGs like Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, and more. By meticulously cutting and layering these cards, I created a new way to appreciate pieces that I already loved.
My mission at that time was to keep my sanity during a very trying time in all our lives. This blossomed into a way to creatively express myself while bringing joy to other card collectors/game lovers.
